This campsite is now closed. A small, sheltered riverside campground between Wairoa and Gisborne on the main coast road. Camp amongst the trees in a delightful landscaped, garden setting, with room for 19 tents. There are no powered sites. The tearooms are alongside and meals are available until 8pm (in summer). Across the road are the Morere Hot Springs, with hot mineral pools and a scenic reserve. The cosy, split-level camp kitchen is well-appointed, with small appliances, microwave and fridge or use the outdoor BBQ area. Compact toilet and shower facilities are available along with a small laundry. Enjoy a game of petanque on the court beside the café garden. Wendy Swan and Trevor Steed will give you a warm welcome.
