According to reviews on Google and TripAdvisor, the facilities are basic yet clean, with well-maintained restrooms and ample space for tents. Campers often highlight the friendly staff who are eager to help and share local tips. However, some guests note the lack of showers and limited amenities, which might not suit everyone's preferences. From the Te Kao Store, about 10 km farther north from here you turn east down Paua Road, then into Te Pua road. There is a plateau of rough grass above sheltered waters on three sides. A landmark bar of gleaming white (pure silica) sand protects this coast. Clear, deep water is around the perimeter, but you will
have to negotiate a bank to the water or try your luck at the boat ramp, unless
the tide is right. Campers must be totally independent. This appears to be a great fishing spot.
The campground is closed to the public over the winter months.
The campsite is only for the local community and extended family.
