Once on Waiheke, there are public transport options from the main ferry terminal which stops at Gordons Road. The campground is at the south end of the beach and has toilets, cold water taps and a couple of gas-fired barbecues that can be used free of charge. The area stretches back from the beachfront and careful tree planting has created an appealing array of secluded and sheltered camping spots. Animals and fires are prohibited. Annual passes are available.
