Drive in through the leafy entranceway to this camp, where many level grassed areas are broken by stands of trees. A central amenities building houses a useful kitchen, ablutions that are well kept and there is a laundry with automatic equipment. A swimming hole has been created in the river and there is a good playground for children. Nearby are tennis courts, a shop, hotel and cafe, and there is a golf course right next door (golf clubs may be hired at the camp). The nearest ski field is only a half hour drive away or go on the local historical walk. Rakaia and Waimakariri River gorges are each about 20 minutes drive for salmon and trout fishing.
