A busy campsite next to the main boat ramp heading onto Lake Benmore at Otematata. This is a very sheltered spot in amongst tall mature trees with a large open spot in the middle. You can get supplies at the shop in Otematata. Registration to be paid upon arrival, either in the honesty box at the entrance, or to the camp warden. No open fires are permitted, and dogs must be kept on lead at all times. The Waitaki Lakes camping season opens from the third Saturday of September until the first Sunday in May.
