Mangawhai Heads Holiday Park is right on the estuary. This camp is divided in two by the entrance road. On the south side level sites are fairly open, with a few trees. Up to 88 power sites and 111 tent sites. Good beachstyle metred ablutions. A bright sunny kitchen has ceramic hobs, ovens, fridge and plenty of bench space, but no inside dining. A good automatic laundry is alongside. On the north side of the road is the camp office leading to a more secluded setting, with some attractive sheltered spots for tenting and views directly through the Heads to the ocean. Here there is an attractive play area, a block of basic toilets and two showers that are handy. The hosts here are Richard and Noela Gunson. Seasonal rates apply.
